Curriculum
At Aleph Bet we believe children learn best by doing. We believe that play is the work of children. We believe our goal is to bring out the artist, the musician, the thinker, the scientist, the problem solver, the friend in your child. We believe this is best accomplished through attractive learning centers, hands-on activities, and a good balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. We believe in giving our students opportunities to develop healthy social attitudes and a positive sense of self, coupled with a love for Judaism.
• Play is used to facilitate the involvement and interest of younger students.
• As study progresses, new concepts are regularly introduced in all areas of study.
• Our youngsters are given the opportunity to learn not one but two languages as they are introduced to both English and Hebrew.
• We work on expanding the child’s cognitive abilities to create an awareness of and to shape early learning skills.
• We structured physical activities to help develop large and fine muscle coordination to understand the kinesthetic relationship between mind and body.
• Changing play areas enhance experiential learning. Professionals in various fields visit the classes allowing students to explore their community and to act different roles. One month, study might involve a veterinarian’s office, the next month a restaurant, etc.
